I went to Spray to meet up with PaulP and if I hadn't had such a fun sail
on my big kit, I might have been feeling hard done by today with all the
5.8m reports - still, unless sods_law has put on a lot of weight, I suspect
I would have been on 6.5m in Shorum. Krafty slunk off to Camber and with a
late night last night and hangover this morning, my destination needed to
be more local.
Spray was really good, mainly because there was a nice crowd, Paul, Jon
Harmer and a load more. The wind disappeared when I arrived and I thought I
was scuppered, but it came back and I was close to maxed with my 7.5. I
reckon a 5.7 would have been doable for much of the time, but I was
enjoying being fully powered all the time. Lots of fun drag racing around
until the mist came back over Beachy Head at about 5pm, so called it a day.
Really good fun - although I'd quite like a normal 5.7m bumpy day soon.
